What is an intake grid and do I need one?

Intake grid covers help keep unwanted debris out of the waterjet intake. And in most applications, MJP does not recommend the installation of one.

Due to the robust construction of MJP waterjets, intake grids are only suggested for certain applications like landing craft or vessels operating in debris filled water. And, because the CSU, DRB and X-Series waterjets are backed by and industry leading 5-year warranty, it comes down to operator preference. MJP stainless steel waterjets still qualify for warranty with or without the installation of an intake grid.
