Monjed 2, a 25-metre FireCat catamaran fireboat built by MetalCraft Marine for the Kuwait Fire Force, features dual MJP 500 DRB waterjets to deliver robust thrust, high speed and exceptional stability for firefighting, rescue and patrol missions. The vessel has won prestigious industry awards for design and performance.

Monjed 2 was developed to support modern maritime emergency response operations for the Kuwait Fire Force, combining fire suppression, marine rescue, patrol duties and secondary patrol functions. Its aluminium catamaran hull helps provide stability and smooth ride characteristics even under demanding conditions, while firefighting systems including powerful pumps, telescopic water monitors and protective water curtains enable effective suppression of large vessel and port fires.

The vessel’s mission profile requires rapid response, reliable propulsion and precise control to operate effectively in close proximity to large vessels, port facilities and offshore installations where firefighting and rescue activities are critical.

DUAL WATERJET PROPULSION FOR RESPONSIVE THRUST AND MANEUVERABILITY

Marine Jet Power supplied dual MJP 500 DRB waterjets as part of the propulsion package for Monjed 2. DRB (Mixed Flow High-Efficiency Waterjet with Inboard Hydraulics) provides high thrust with precise control, enabling fast acceleration, strong maneuvering capability and efficient operation across a range of speeds suitable for both high-speed transit and steady station-keeping.
